Tunesday-10,000 Maniacs

nm3

I wish I had appreciated my youth – I should have worn tighter clothing when I could have!
~Natalie Merchant ~

Take me now, baby, here as I am
Hold me close, n’ try n’ understand
Desire is hunger is the fire I breathe
Love is a banquet on which we feed

I heard this passionate ballad as I made my way into work this morning. It reminded me that I had a hot little story in my drafts folder. Finally, the romantic muses are roaming around in this blonde brain of mine. Hopefully I’ll have it finished and posted by tomorrow afternoon. Yes, it will be erotic. No, it won’t be filthy. Want to read filth, go somewhere else. Giggle, snort!

Because the night belongs to lovers
Because the night belongs to us
Because the night belongs to lovers
Because the night belongs to us

Love you and happy Tunesday!

Not sure how erotic the story will be. Maybe it will be suggestive and romantic. My characters are just discovering each other. We’ll see..

  1. There’s something about her voice that makes me cry — it doesn’t matter what she’s singing — although the fact that she likes to tell sad stories probably helps. Hey Jack Kerouac is my favourite. I listened to this Unplugged album for the first time in years after seeing this post yesterday. Thank you, darling, for reminding me of this (and for making me cry, of course).

  2. For some reason (who knows, but I’m the kind of person who reads so much into these things) you came to mind last night as I drove home from having to go to court for a 13 year old unpaid speeding ticket (yeah, you read that right), and so I decided that today i would drop my your blog and say hello.
That is all, really. Just hello. (My muse didn’t give me anything else to say… no ‘you will meet a stranger’ or ‘take a spontaneous taxi ride today’ or ‘your lucky numbers are 3, 14, 32 and the square root of Pi divided by your shoe size to the power of 6’ or ‘learn Chinese — impress your friends’.)
You know, I think my muse must work in a fortune cookie factory!
I truly hope you are well, darling.

    • My darling,

I’m glad you stopped by for a chat. My muses have been yelling inside my head for days, but I’ve had yet to sit still long enough to finish writing one damn story. I am so goddamn frustrated by it I could scream. My life is tumultuous right now. I’m sad one minute. Smiling and euphoric the next. It’s exhausting and invigorating at the same time. I want time Helena. Patience and understanding. By me and others in my life.

As for your damn parking ticket, isn’t that bullshit? Didn’t they have anything better to do than bug the hell out of you? Maybe you could write a story about it. Did you write for Friday Fictioneers? I have a story in my head about an apocalypse and romance of course. Death too. Love to you my dear. Wish I could give you those winning lottery numbers….

      Love, Renee
